Right across the road from Cimarrone
South Hampton sits on County Road 210, right across the street from Cimarrone, and it is one of the four golf communities that make this road the golf corridor of St. Johns County. It is a beautiful, established community, with the grown in landscaping and big shade trees that only come with time.
The club has been completely redone
Here is what you need to know right now. South Hampton took on a full renovation in 2026, not just the course and the greens but much of the facility, including the clubhouse. The course closed at the end of April while the work was done, and golfers played Cimarrone, St. Johns Golf and Country Club, or Stillwater in the meantime. The club has since reopened.
What the renovation means for a buyer
Buying here now means living on a freshly redone course in a community with settled neighborhoods and mature trees, which is a hard combination to find here. New construction gives you a new house, and South Hampton gives you a new course with an established neighborhood around it. If golf is part of why you are looking, ask me about the club’s current membership options before you write an offer.
The club itself
Beyond the course, the club has The Grille for breakfast and lunch, a patio, and practice grounds with an instructional facility and a putting studio. You will know the clubhouse by its brick clock tower. It is a real golf club, not just a course with a parking lot.
How South Hampton compares
If you want gated privacy on the same road, that points to Cimarrone. If you are 55 or older and want a brand new home on a brand new course, that points to Stillwater. An established club with character points you here.
