Golf is a family sport here
People sometimes think of golf communities as quiet, older neighborhoods, and some of that is true. But in our area golf is a family activity. Plenty of the families I work with want to live where the kids can grow up on the course, where a Saturday is nine holes together and then the pool. If that is the life you picture, there is one street you need to know about.
One road, four golf communities
County Road 210 is the golf corridor of St. Johns County. On this one road you have four communities, each with its own club and character:
- Cimarrone is my personal favorite, and I will be honest that I am a little biased because it is gated. A gated, semi public golf course community that gives you privacy and a real club without being shut off.
- St. Johns Golf and Country Club, a well established country club community on the same road.
- South Hampton, which just finished a full renovation, bringing fresh life to an established community.
- Stillwater, a brand new 55 and over active adult community, and a place where you can still buy new on a golf course.
Finding your fit on the fairway
These communities tend to draw a slightly older buyer, unless you are a golf focused family with kids, in which case they are perfect. The right one depends on what you want. Gated privacy points you to Cimarrone. A turnkey new build in an active adult setting points you to Stillwater. An established club with character points you to St. Johns or South Hampton. This is exactly the kind of decision where having walked all four of them with buyers matters, and I am happy to talk through which fits your game and your family.
